I've shared some polishes from Deborah Lippmann's New York Marquee Collection, but today I have a polish from her Fantastical Holiday 2014 Collection! Dream Weaver* ($22 @ Murale) is a real shade shifter - both in the bottle and on the nail. This polish was tricky to photograph, and unfortunately I wasn't able to capture the true essence of this polish on film.
Deborah Lippmann's Dream Weaver has a slightly sheer formula, so I did have to use three thin coats for an opaque finish. Even without a top coat, this polish dries to a very shiny, metallic finish. I would still recommend using a top coat though, just to enhance the wear time. Without top coat, I only got 2 days of wear before my polish started to chip. Dream Weaver has hints of purple, grey, green, and blue. I have to admit that I was really excited about this polish in the bottle, but the intricate colour dynamics didn't translate perfectly on the nails. I was really hoping that the blue and purple tones would show up stronger on the nails, but the grey and green tones are very prominent. Still pretty, but not what I was expecting!
3 coats, no top coat
Oooh, love the duochrome finish to this one- very cool! xo
