Dream Eyes Leopard Blue Contact Lenses

Halloween is right around the corner, and coloured contacts can completely transform any costume that you had in mind. I've been trying out a pair of Leopard Blue Contact Lenses* ($27.95) from Dream Eyes, and they're definitely a dramatic accessory.

These contact lenses are larger than normal, non-coloured contacts. I do wear contacts, so I'm fairly comfortable inserting & removing contacts. I also work in an optometrists office, so I deal with contacts daily, including teaching patients how to insert & remove them. If you've never worn contacts before, I would definitely recommend visiting your optometrist to have a contact lens fitting and teach done. Contact lenses are a medical device, and they aren't for everyone. Better to check with your doctor first!

Since these contacts are a bit bigger than normal contacts, it can take a bit of practice to inset them properly. Removal was really easy though! These contacts have a cool blue leopard print design on them, and they make my eyes look huge! The leopard print design is only noticeable from a short distance. From a distance, Dylan said that my eyes just looked black & scary! The coloured part of the contact doesn't affect your vision at all - you can still see clearly. However, these contacts aren't available in prescription strengths, so they're only for those with perfect vision. Or, you could wear these contact under your glasses.

So cool!

These contacts are apparently good for 12 months, if you keep them in solution every night. Don't ever sleep with your contacts in (unless your optometrist gives you the okay), since that can leave you with some pretty nasty eye infections. Have you ever worn coloured or patterned contacts? Would you order a pair to complete your Halloween costume?
