Lights Concert!

Happy Monday friends! As you may have seen on Twitter, this past Thursday I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a Lights concert here in Ottawa. The concert was actually at the Algonquin Commons Theatre, which is a cozy atmosphere catering to the college-aged crowd. I've always been a fan of Lights' music, so I was really excited to see her live!

My current favourite Lights song is Up We Go, which she played incredibly well at the concert. The whole mood of the concert was up-beat, fun, and energetic. There were a lot of die hard Lights fans in the audience, who would cheer, dance, and sing along. Lights played all of her biggest hits, including Drive My Soul, Second Go, Banner, and Up We Go. She also played a few new songs from her recent album, Little Machines. She played for about an hour and a half, including her encore.

Lights is currently on tour, with stops in a ton of cities, including Toronto, Halifax, New York, Chicago, Berlin, Amsterdam, and Paris! You can check up the full tour lineup here. Rush Midnight is opening up all of Lights' Canadian dates. I've personally never heard of Rush Midnight before, but they were good. I did find that they lacked the energy that the Lights audience was craving, but their music was good.

Lights is absolutely adorable in real life, and she's just a ball of energy and spunk. I thought that her voice sounded amazing live, and I couldn't help but dance and sing along! The venue wasn't too overwhelming, and every single seat in the house gives you a great view of the stage.

If you're a fan of Lights music, then you have to catch a show on her Little Machines tour! I had an amazing night, thank you to the wonderful people at TD Canada & NKPR for sending me to the show. Are you a Lights fan? What's your favourite Lights song? :)
