Clinique Long Last Soft Matte Lipstick

I've been trying out Clinique's new Long Last Soft Matte Lipstick* shades for a few weeks now, and it's finally time to tell you all about them! I have 8 of these lipsticks, and I do find that the shades can vary slightly in both pigmentation and formula. These lipsticks are all matte, long-wearing (5~ hours), and comes packaged in silver ribbed tubes. As with all of Clinique's products, there is absolutely no scent to these lipsticks.

"This lipstick keeps its soft, matte finish for hours. It will not feather, creep, stain, or dry out." - Sephora

Matte Beauty is a pretty pinky nude that's a great "my lips but better" colour for me! Very creamy formula that feels hydrating, smooth, and comfortable.

Matte Petal is one of my favourites from the bunch - a beautiful light baby pink with slightly blue undertones. Creamy formula that's comfortable to wear.

Matte Suede is a light beige than gives me the "concealer lip" look. I found this shade had a drier formula, and the colour wasn't super opaque. This colour almost looked a bit chalky on my lips.

Matte Peony is a bright, borderline neon pink. I found this shade to have a very dry formula, and the colour wasn't as pigmented as the rest of the colours.

Matte Mandarin is a very bright orange that I think would look gorgeous on tan or darker skin. I found it to be a bit too bright on my super pale skin, but it's still a fun shade. The formula was creamy, but not overly hydrating.

Matte Crimson is the seductive, sexy red of the bunch. As you can tell in the photo below, this shade can feather outside of the lip line, so you'll want to use a lip liner with this one. This red has blue undertones, and was very pigmented.

Matte Magenta is a bright blue based pink with a semi sheer formula. This is a colour that I can see myself reaching for a ton in the Spring and Summer months!

Matte Plum is my favourite shade in this line - it's just gorgeous and perfectly appropriate for this time of year! This formula was very creamy, and the colour had just the right amount of pigmentation.

Clinique's Long Last Soft Matte Lipsticks are $19 each, and I my must haves are Plum, Petal, and Beauty. I would have liked to have seen a wider range of colours in this formula - maybe a deep vampy purple, a lilac, and a deeper nude? I really like this formula, most shades are very creamy, soft, and wearable. For a matte lipstick range, I think that Clinique did really well! The drier shades (Suede and Peony) still work well if you apply a balm or gloss over top. Have you tried out any of these new matte lipsticks from Clinique? Which shade is your favourite?
