Winter might not be over yet, but Spring beauty collections are quickly approaching. Today I have a beautiful palette to share with you from Clarins' Garden Escape Collection! The Garden Escape 6-Colour Eye Palette* ($44 CAD) has shadows that can be used both wet and dry, so you can easily customize your look.
Clarins' Garden Escape 6-Colour Eye Palette comes packaged in a beautiful shiny gold compact with an almost quilted pattern on the lid. The palette also comes with a red felt pouch, which will help to keep your compact safe while travelling, and is just luxurious in general. The palette has a full size mirror on the inner lid, and a double sided brush. The 6 eye shadows are embossed with a beautiful floral design. This design does fade away after just a few uses, but I still love it!
This palette starts off with a white highlighter shade that I love putting on my brow bone to finish off my look. There are two green shadows in this palette - a mossy green and a pale green. Both shadows have a sheer but buildable formula. Next you have two pink shadows - a medium rose and a pale pink, also with a fairly sheer formula. Finally you have a taupe shadow that works well with all of the other shadows in this palette. I find that I really have to layer the shadows in this palette, since they are all quite sheer. The formula of all 6 shadows is really creamy and easy to work with, I just wish that they had better pigmentation. I also feel as though the green and pink shades in this palette don't work well together. I've been having trouble combining these two colours into one look. I can easily use the green and taupe shadows together, or the pinks and taupe together, but I haven't been able to flawlessly combine pink and green shadows into one look. With a palette with 6 shadows, I feel like they all need to work well together. Finally, I've tried using these shadows wet, but they actually became harder to work with - but I honestly don't have much experience using shadows wet, I simply prefer using my shadows dry.
So, Clarins' Garden Escape 6-Colour Eye Palette is packaged beautifully, but the shadows aren't flawless. I'd suggest this palette to anyone that prefers a natural look, as the shadows have a semi-sheer formula. Have you checked out Clarins' Garden Escape Collection yet?
