Matte lipsticks are not normally my favourite go-to formulas, but I was still excited to give Lise Watier's new Baiser Velours* a try. These new matte liquid lipsticks promise a long-wearing formula with a creamy consistency. I've been trying out three shades - Party Kiss, Sweet Kiss, and Eternal Kiss, read on for swatches and my full review!
Lise Watier's Baiser Velours are packaged in sleek silver tubes with a flattened doe foot applicator. There's a very light fruity scent to this formula that is barely noticeable. This formula is fairly thick and very creamy, and dries to a matte finish. I'm normally weary of matte lipsticks, since they tend to be quite drying, but I was pleasantly surprised by this new formula from Lise Watier! I don't find this formula to be drying, but I also wouldn't describe it as hydrating either. After about 2 hours I do need to top up with a light layer of lip balm. However, there are no issues with this formula transferring, fading, or getting all over my teeth! I can get about 6 hours of wear from this formula before I need to top up, which I think is very impressive!
Party Kiss is a hot pink magenta shade, which is exactly the type of lipstick shade that I tend to gravitate towards. This formula is very pigmented, and easy to apply!
Sweet Kiss is a pale pink lipstick, again with a matte formula. I really like this type of cool pink shade on my lips, but I'm not sure that it would be flattering on someone with a deeper skin tone.
Eternal Kiss is a true red shade with an extremely pigmented formula. This shade is definitely a statement lipstick, and I love it!
How gorgeous are these new matte liquid lipsticks?! My favourite from these three is probably Party Kiss, but they're all beautiful colours. I highly recommend picking up a tube for yourself, I'm sure you'll love them as much as I do! :)
