"This covetable lip collection breaks the mold of traditional nude lipstick. Its innovative gel formula glides effortlessly over lips, laying down subtle shades and a sleek shine finish with a delicate vanilla scent. Velvet-like monoi butter, derived from the tropical tiaré flower, delivers supreme moisture while nourishing myrrh extract and antioxidant vitamin E minimize the appearance of aging — including vertical fine lines." - Sephora
First of all, I absolutely love this packaging! The beige tubes have a magnetic closure that just feels so fancy. This formula has a very faint vanilla scent which is almost undetectable. Moody Margot is a sheer nude with slightly orange undertones. This lipstick has a very shiny finish, and feels very light on my lips. I wouldn't describe this formula as overly hydrating, but it's also not drying either. This lipstick has a thin, light consistency, and I do find that this colour can accentuate fine lines and dry patches, so you'll want to exfoliate before applying!
Moody Margot
Strange Magic is a nude cool pink with a sheer formula. I found that this shade was a bit harder to work with, as it really wanted to cling to dry patches. I think that this light pink would work best on anyone with a lighter skin tone, as it might be too pale on everyone else. I get about 2-3 hours of hydration from these lipsticks before I need to either reapply or touch up with some lip balm.

So, while I like both of these lipstick shades, I'm not head over heels in love with either of them. And for $38 a tube, I think that you need to be in love. The packaging sure is luxurious, but I was hoping for a bit more hydration from this formula, and the colours aren't something that I'd reach for all that often.
Have you tried any of Marc Jacobs' New Nudes Sheer Lip Gels yet? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts on them! Which of these two shades is your favourite?
I gotta see if the line has brighter colors, I swear these two look identical on the lips and I cannot do nudes like these!
ReplyDeleteYa they are very similar! Strange Magic is definitely pinker though. The shade Have We Met? looks pretty on the Sephora site!
DeleteOooooh Omg that is so sweet. The shade looks quite nice on you :)

DeleteI really want to try the marc jacobs lipsticks but not these shades, I think they are both a little too nude for me.
