Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation in Light

I'm normally a fan of liquid foundations, and then I'll use a pressed powder to either mattify my skin, or to help keep my foundation locked in place all day long. I've never found a powder foundation that gives my the right amount of coverage, but I was still excited to give Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation* ($42 CAD/11g) a chance!

Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation in Light

"This powder foundation formula features crystalline powder, which works on all skin types to conceal imperfections, leaving skin with a soft-focus appearance. Infused with an antioxidant-rich, oil-absorbing Exclusive Cocoa Complex, a non-drying powder that defends against free radicals, it minimizes the appearance of fine lines and pores, and provides skin with a subtle, chocolate scent. This foundation can be reapplied throughout the day for medium-to-full coverage that doesn't look heavy or cakey." - Sephora

One thing that I absolutely adore about this product is that it smells like chocolate! That's right, there's that same cocoa fragrance to this powder foundation that's found in Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. The cocoa scent is very noticeable in the pan, but don't worry, you won't be walking around smelling like a Dairy Milk all day long - the scent fades once you apply the powder to your skin.

When applied with a powder brush, this powder foundation provides me with light coverage. For that reason, I've been using is as a setting powder over top of my regular foundation and concealer. When used in this way, my skin is mattified, and the life of my foundation is prolonged my a few hours. If you are looking for a very sheer, light coverage from your foundation, then you might love this powder on its' own. You can slightly build up the amount of coverage, but not by much. The shade Light is the perfect match for my skin tone. In fact, the match is so perfect that I'm not even able to show you a swatch - it just blends right in to my skin! There is one light shade in this range called Fair.

While I love the cocoa scent of this powder foundation, I do wish that it offered a little bit more coverage. If you want to save some cash, I think that Rimmel's Stay Matte Pressed Powder is very similar.

Are you a fan of powder foundations? Have you found one that gives medium to full coverage?
