I've been a long time fan of Too Faced La Creme Lip Sticks, but it's taken me a while to try out their La Crème Lip Balm range. This formula is essentially meant to be super hydrating tinted lip balms, offering a sheer wash of colour. There are a lot of days when all I want is a sheer amount of colour, especially when I'm at work or just running errands. I've been using the shade Pink Slip* ($22 USD), which is a sheer pink-coral colour.
"Your lips deserve La Crème Lip Balm—a creamy surge of moisture in a rich, buttery balm. This ultra-nourishing formula is saturated with antioxidant-rich White Lotus Flower Extract, Black Currant Seed Oil and Hyaluronic Filling Spheres, leaving your lips plump and irresistibly kissable." - Too Faced
Too Faced La Crème Lip Balms come packaged in pink metallic tubes, with colour coded labels on the bottom of them. I really love this packaging, but I have to admit that I still prefer the gold tubes of the original La Crème line. There's no real scent to these tinted lip balms.
In the tube, Pink Slip looks like a pink-nude shade, but on my lips there's definitely some orange tones. This formula is incredibly thick and creamy, and feels quite cushiony on my lips. I get about 4 hours of hydration from this formula, but I definitely do feel the need to reapply after eating. I wouldn't say that this formula feels exactly like a typical lip balm, it's a bit waxier and not quite as hydrating. But for a tinted lip balm, I'd say that it's still very good! Since this colour is sheer, you don't really need to worry about the colour migrating outside of your lips, getting on your teeth, or transferring onto your cup - bonus! However, if you have dry lips then this formula does have a tendency to cling to any dry patches. You'll want to exfoliate beforehand, just to be safe!
If you're into sheer washes of colour, then I think you'd really love Too Faced La Crème Lip Balm line. The next shade on my radar is Plum Crazy, I just can't resist a good purple lippie! Have you tried out this formula, or Too Faced regular La Crème line? What shades are your favourites from either range?
