I like to think that my lips are naturally quite luscious and plump, so I never really gravitate towards plumping products. However, there was something about the new Dior Addict Lip Maximizers* that made me gravitate to them. There are two new shades in this formula for Summer 2015, and I have both to share with you today!
"The first instant-volume gloss from Dior Backstage. Dior Addict Lip Maximizer moisturizes lips and gives an incredible instant-volume effect for a glossy smile and full, plump lips, as if transformed. Its mint-vanilla scent provides an even more addictive fresh sensation." - Dior
I've tried plumping glosses in the past that left my lips only slightly plumper but in a lot more pain. I was initially a bit scared to try these out, since I hate that tingly feeling that plumping glosses tend to give, and I obviously didn't want it to be painful. Upon first application, there was a very slight tingly feeling that lasted maybe 15-30 seconds, and then it just felt like a normal gloss to me. I've been obsessed with the shade Beige Sunrise this week, and I don't even notice the tingly feeling anymore. I also don't notice a plumping effect, but that might just be because my lips are already plenty plump!
The two new shades are both very sheer, with only slight differences between the two shades. For that reason, I think that you only need to pink up one of these glosses, and my preference lies with Beige Sunrise. Beige Sunrise is a beautiful sheer nude with finely milled golden shimmers. This is the perfect gloss to either wear on its' own, or to pair over almost any lipstick. I love that I can reapply without a mirror, making it a great gloss to keep in my purse, or in my pocket at work.
Pink Sunset is a sheer light pink with no shimmers. This gloss gives a very translucent look to my lips, and I love the high-shine finish. There is a light vanilla-mint scent that I'm obsessed with, but you can't smell it at all once the gloss is on your lips.
Another winning product from Dior! I wouldn't necessarily recommend this line if you actually want something that will plump your lips, but I'm really happy with it as just a normal, everyday gloss. Beige Sunrise is a great everyday colour, and Pink Sunset has just a tiny bit more pigmentation. If you're looking to add a touch of luxury to your beauty collection, then I think you'll be impressed with the new Dior Addict Lip Maximizers!
