MAKE UP FOR EVER has recently released a line of new primers, which they are calling Step 1 Skin Equalizers. I've been trying the Mattifying Primer* ($43 CAD), which aims to reduce shine, while also create a great base for makeup. I definitely believe in the power and importance of using a high quality make up primer, as they can not only prolong the wear-time of your makeup, but they also create a barrier between your foundation and your skin!
"Prep skin for your makeup routine with Step 1 Skin Equalizers, and address your skin concerns with this innovative makeup primer. Perfect for balancing skin and achieving an ideal makeup result, it’s lightweight and creamy, leaving a more evenly-toned appearance, and increases foundation's hold. This primer for all skintones leaves makeup looking fresh for hours while it hydrates, firms, and smooths the look of the skin." - Sephora
I really like the packaging of MUFE's new primers, and the mattifying one comes in a black plastic tube. This formula is very, very thick, probably the thickest primer that I've used. Because of this, I do find it a bit difficult to easily smooth the primer all over my face. Instead, I've been dabbing the primer on to my t-zone, which is the area of my face that tends to get the oiliest. I don't have very oily skin in the Winter, but come Summer I know that my skin will be a bit more "glowing". I've found that this formula from MUFE has been great at keeping my skin looking matte throughout the entire day, and keeps my makeup looking flawless!
I do wish that this formula was a bit easier to apply, but maybe it's thick formula is the secret to a full day of matte skin! There are a few other primers in this new range that I'm quite interested in, especially the Nourishing Primer. Have you tried any of MUFE's new Step 1 Skin Equalizers? I would love to hear your thoughts on them in the comments below! In the meantime, I'm off to explore the beautiful city of Kingston in this gorgeous Spring weather!
I haven't tried this mattifying one and it looks kind of thick. I have tried the smoothing one and I find it very comparable to Befit Porefessional if not better.
ReplyDeleteIt is very thick! But you can rub the product between your fingers to melt it a bit to make it easier to apply :)
DeleteI love Kingston, I have family there so I've been quite a few times! I tried the peach primer and sadly it doesn't suit my skin at the moment #palepeopleproblems. Too bad this one was on the thick side!
ReplyDeleteKingston is such a beautiful city!
DeleteAw that's too bad, coloured primers are always a bit tricky!
This sounds great for my oily t-zone!
ReplyDeleteYou would absolutely love it!
