Sephora + Pantone Color of the Year 2015 Marsala Collection

Happy Good Friday everyone! I hope you're all having a great start to your Easter weekend :) Today I have Sephora + Pantone's Marsala Color of the Year Collection* to share with you! I know this post is coming to you a little late, but you should still be able to find this collection at your local Sephora store, and some items are still available online. I personally love Marsala as the color of the year, since it's going to be wearable for all skin tones, and not too bold or outlandish.

Sephora + Pantone Universe Shimmering Marsala Cheek Trio ($35 CAD)

This palette contains three powder blushes - well really two blushes and a highlighter. Spanish Villa is the cool toned highlighter, Coral Pink is the peachy blush, and Marsala is a extremely pigmeneted dusty rose blush. Marsala is a bit too pigmented for my liking, and I had a hard time blending it out to look more natural.

Sephora + Pantone Universe Pro Angled Blush Brush ($40 CAD)

The perfect brush to go along with the blush palette? That's what I originally thought, but after a few uses I found that this super soft yet densely packed brush is actually better suited for contouring/highlighting. The beautiful marsala and rose gold handle definitely sets this brush apart in my ever-growing brush collection!

Sephora + Pantone Universe Metalshine Liquid Liner ($23 CAD)

This liquid liner has an incredibly pigmented and creamy formula. I love the metallic formula, and this marsala shade is actually very compatible with a neutral eye. A nice change from my everyday black liner look!

Sephora + Pantone Universe Cooling Multi Stick ($25 CAD)

If you like shimmer, then this is the product for you! This jumbo twist up stick works well as blush, but I find the packaging way too bulky to use as a lipstick. This cream blush has a sheer formula, bringing just a flush of colour to your cheeks. I see this as more of a coral shade than a true marsala colour.

Sephora + Pantone Universe Bold Marsala Mascara & Brow Highlighter ($25 CAD)

This product is meant to be used as a coloured mascara and brow tint, however the packaging majorly let me down. The stopper isn't small enough, so most of the time the wand is left with way too much product on it. The packaging is also very flimsy, so my tube actually broke on the third time trying to use it - I can no longer close my tube tightly. Packaging aside, this coloured mascara is an interesting product, seeing as it's also meant to be used on the brows. I'm not personally one for coloured brows, but I think that this is a very interesting product!

Sephora + Pantone Universe Pure Marsala Matte Lip Crème ($18)

This matte lipstick comes in golden magnetic packaging, how chic! This lipstick has just the right amount of pigmentation to keep it wearable, and perfect for everyday use. Even though this lipstick has a matte finish, the formula is still creamy and hydrating - the best of both worlds!

Sephora + Pantone Color of the Year 2015 Marsala Collection

Whew! That was a lot of marsala to get through! My must haves from this collection are the Angled Blush Brush, and the Lip Crème, which hopefully you'll still be able to find at your local Sephora store! Have you embraced Marsala as the Color of the Year?

    1. All 3 shades look gorgeous in the palette, but I did have a hard time making the colour work on my cheeks. Marsala is just way too pigmented for us pale gals!
