Happy Sunday friends! Today I'm at the cottage for the remainder of the Victoria Day long weekend for a little R&R. In the meantime I have another excited Urban Decay review for you - this time I'm talking all about their new Single Eyeshadow shades for Summer 2015. I have 5 colours - Riff*, Tonic*, Backfire*, Sideline*, & Beware* ($22 each). Read on for my full review and to see swatches! Warning: photo heavy post!
"When we relaunched our Eyeshadow formula, beauty junkies and makeup artists rejoiced. The only way to make our velvety, bestselling formula even better? Expand our shade range, of course! Urban Decay introduces EIGHT brand-spanking-NEW Eyeshadow singles. There’s a little something for everyone—from color junkies to fans of neutral mattes. (See, we DO read all your pleas on Facebook.) The lineup: six gorgeous, shifty duotones—in shades like blue, gold, peach, burgundy and even red!—and two versatile matte neutrals. With the addition of these new shades, our already huge Eyeshadow lineup now includes a whopping 12 duotones and an ever-expanding range of matte shades." - Urban Decay
First up is Backfire, a deep purple with burgundy undertones. This shadow has the perfect amount of pigmentation, and I find that it's a great way to bring a bit of colour to an otherwise neutral eye.
Beware is a matte warm brown shadow that has such a creamy formula. This shadow is a great option for a crease colour, and to help blend out other shadows. Looks familiar? For you UD junkies out there, you might recognize Beware from the Theodora Palette!
Riff is described as a "brown-nude matte with floating micro-sparkle," which I think sounds pretty fancy! This coppery brown is packed full of glitters, but it still applies quite smooth and with minimal fall-out.
Sideline is a gorgeous shimmering gold with a slight green shift. This colour makes for a stunning all over the lid colour, and can be worn on its' own for a clean look, or with other shadows for a bolder eye.
And finally, I've saved the best for last! Tonic is a lilac colour with a blue shift. This shadow is simply stunning. Great pigmentation, and again another shadow that could easily be worn on its' own.
