I just love it when a really great product meets really cute packaging. Marc Jacobs' Kiss Pop Lip Color Sticks are exactly that - great lipstick in absolutely adorable packaging! I've been trying out two shades - Pow!* & Wham* ($35 CAD), which are both stunning yet wearable colours.
These lipsticks are packaged in silver bullets with a crayon-like tip. The tips are colour coded, allowing you to easily find your preferred shade. With so many makeup brands out there, it can be hard to create a unique, exciting product. I think that Marc Jacobs did an amazing job creating a fun and exciting lipstick line with this packaging!
When you pull off the lid, the lipstick inside also somewhat resembles a crayon. This line of lipsticks offers a matte finish, and like most matte lipsticks, I find this formula to be fairly drying. Even though this formula includes honey to help hydrate, I find that I'm still needing to apply a balm or gloss over top to make this lipstick a bit more comfortable to wear. I also disagree with the claims of this formula being transfer-proof. The colour will transfer onto cups when drinking, but with that being said, I still do get about 4-5 hours of wear from this formula before I need to top up.
Pow! is a soft baby pink shade, and it's the type of lipstick shade that I tend to gravitate towards. I love that this pink doesn't look chalky, and it's not too pale for my skin tone. This is definitely a shade that I see myself getting a lot of wear out of!
Wham is a bright coral shade with great pigmentation. I feel like this shade would have looked great with my darker hair, but now that I'm a blonde again I'm not sure how I feel about it. I'm thinking that Wham will look a lot better on me once I get a bit of a tan!
I absolutely love the packaging of these lipsticks, and Pow! is a shade that I could see myself reaching for on a daily basis - it's just so easy & it will go with almost any makeup look! Do be aware that this formula will transfer slightly, and the matte effect can be a bit drying. However, on the whole, these are great lipsticks, and I'm wanting to try out more shades from the line!
