How is it already June!? The weather is starting to get warmer, and cottage season is upon us, which means that sun protection is incredibly important. I've been trying out two new sunscreens from Ombrelle, one for adults and one for kids. One's a hit and one's a miss - read on to find out which one needs to be added to your beach bag and which one you can skip!
Ombrelle's 100% Mineral SPF 50+ Lotion for Kids* ($19.99/100 mL) is of course meant for kids, but since I don't have any children, I decided I'd try this out for myself. I covered my body, head to toe, in this sunscreen before going out for a run on a particularly hot and sunny day. This lotion is a lot thicker than the Ultra Light formula, doesn't absorb fully into my skin, & it left a powdery, white look to my skin. I looked even more pale than I actually am, and my black Lululemon shorts were also now looking a bit grey. I felt sticky and uncomfortable, and I don't think that any kid will like feeling like that, especially on a hot, sticky day. Formula aside, this sunscreen did protect my skin against burning.
If you're looking for a new SPF for Summer, then I would highly recommend Ombrelle's Ultra Light Advanced SPF 50+ Weightless Body Lotion, it's one of the best formulas I've ever tried! I would definitely skip on the kid's version though - I'm sure there are better kid-friendly sunscreens out there!
What sun protection products are you using this year? I always look for products with both a high SPF and UVA/UVB protection - which Ombrelle's Ultra Light Advanced SPF 50+ Weightless Body Lotion has!

Thanks Jessy! Ya, the first one is amazing!
Deletestrange that they had a kids version that was so "off" -- I'll have to look for first one in the future though!
ReplyDeleteI know! The kids formula was just so thick and left a weird residue on my skin. The other formula is so great though!
