I've been a long time fan of YSL's original Glossy Stain formula, but did you know that they recently released a new twist on the already incredible gloss-stain hybrid?! YSL's Vernis À Lèvres Pop Water Glossy Stain is a new sheer & juicy formula, and I've been trying out the shade 202 Rouge Splash*!
YSL sure know how to do luxurious packaging - and at $38 CAD a pop, I expect nothing less. The tube is black, with one side having a see through section, making finding the right colour super easy. The gold cap is pretty to look at, but to be honest it does have a cheap plasticy feel to it. The slanted doe foot applicator really hugs my lips, making application a breeze!
202 Rouge Splash is a great Summer colour, and with two layers I was left with really great pigmentation. This orangey red is bright, but I still feel very comfortable wearing it - it's not over the top or neon. I absolutely love the glossy finish from this formula, and it's super hydrating! The original line is also quite moisturizing, but these are even more so. I get about 6-7 hours of colour from this formula - not the advertised 10, but I still think that 6-7 hours is impressive. Once this colour sets, it doesn't transfer very easily, so you can feel free to eat, drink, kiss, etc., without having to immediately reapply.
Have you tried out any of YSL's new Vernis À Lèvres Pop Water Glossy Stains yet? I think that I still prefer the original formula, as they are my go-to night out lip stains, but this formula is a bit more hydrating, and the shade selection is really fun!
