When it comes to mascara, the bigger the brush the better, in my opinion. For the past few weeks I've been trying out essence's plump no clump! volume mascara*, which has a super fat brush and promises a ton of volume while still keeping your lashes clump-free. Keep reading to see if this mascara lived up to its' claims!
"the name says it all. the large elastomer brush with an integrated reservoir generates mega-volume without any clumping." - essence
I love the orange and blue packaging of this mascara, it's really pretty! The wand is quite large, and the plastic bristles are of a medium length. I find that the bristles grip my lashes really well and coat them evenly with a single stroke. Since this brush is so large, it can be a bit tricky to get mascara on the tiny lashes in the inner corners of my eyes.
Despite the name of this mascara, I don't actually find that this formula gives me that much volume or drama. I'm really enjoying this mascara for an everyday light makeup look, but I definitely don't find that I get much volume from this formula. I also do get a bit of clumping from this mascara, and it's hard to remove the clumps since the brush is so large.
Even though this mascara isn't waterproof, it has been holding up very well in the Summer heat. I haven't had any issues with smudging, fading, etc. I also don't have to use anything too intense to remove my eye makeup at the end of the night, which is a huge bonus!
Overall, I think that this is a good drugstore mascara option for just a couple of bucks. I wish that it gave me a bit more volume and no clumps, but the end result is still quite good for an everyday look. Have you tried any of essence's mascaras? I'd love to know which ones are worth giving a try!
