Origins Clear Improvement Purifying Charcoal Body Wash

Last month I shared my glowing review for Origins' Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask, and today I'm back with a product from the same line. Origins' new Clear Improvement Purifying Charcoal Body Wash* ($27 from Sephora, $29 from Origins directly) works to deeply clean your body, with the purifying benefits of charcoal.

"Lather up and let Bamboo Charcoal help deep clean daily build up, dirt and debris. While the minty-fresh aroma of Clove and Wintergreen leaves you invigorated. With a crisp, clean sensation. Skin feels perfectly pure, totally refreshed." - Origins

This body wash from Origins comes packaged in a clear plastic tube so you can easily see how much product you have left. This black formula has a fairly thin, runny consistency, but it lathers pretty well when used on a loofah. The scent of clove and wintergreen leaves is pretty strong and quite invigorating, making this shower gel a good option to wake you up in the morning. I don't find that the scent really lingers on my skin after rinsing off, which I'm okay with. This formula leaves my skin feeling clean, but not dry or uncomfortably squeaky clean. I don't find this formula very hydrating either, it's just a good everyday shower gel.

While I have been really enjoying this shower gel from Origins, it is a bit pricey to become someone's everyday shower gel. It was great to try out, but it didn't wow me enough to convince me that it's worth almost $30 a bottle! If you find that your regular shower gel isn't quite cleaning deep enough, then you might want to try out this formula from Origins. Otherwise, I don't think it's something that you need to run out and try.

  1. i adore their face products but you're right, this is a bit splurgy for a shower gel especially if a basic one is already doing the job for you!

    1. I definitely enjoyed trying it out, but I don't think it's good enough for the average person to splurge on it!

  2. This sounds like it would be great if it wasn't so pricey!
