Today I'm back with the final product from Dior's State of Gold Collection for the Holiday 2015 season! Dior's Fusion Mono in Blazing* ($31) is a shimmery gold cream shadow with a mousse-like texture. I've heard a lot of raving reviews on this formula (mostly from Jayme from Her Late Night Cravings!), so I was super excited to finally try it out for myself!
Now, I believe that the Fusion Mono line normally consists of matte shades (correct me if I'm wrong), but Blazing is far from being matte. This gold shadow is packed to the brim with shimmer, leaving your lids with a wash of warm golden glitter. This shadow is fairly sheer, and the colour isn't that buildable, which is a shame. While this colour is absolutely beautiful, the sheer finish does make it more of a base product in my books.
The light mousse-like texture is quite fun - the product is somewhat squishy, and bounces back when you touch is. I tried applying this with the enclosed brush, but I felt like the brush picked up no product at all, and preferred to just use my finger to apply this shadow. I haven't had any issues with this formula creasing, fading, etc. throughout the day.
While this is a beautiful shade, I do definitely wish that it was quite a bit more pigmented. If you're looking for a shadow base, or a cream product that will give you a gentle wash of colour, then this is the product for you. If you're looking for fully pigmented, bold colour, then you'll need to keep on looking.
That a really pretty shadow! Too bad it isn't pigmented..
ReplyDeleteI agree, it would have been perfect if it had more pigmentation!
DeleteVery pretty! I have a deep grey one (can't remember the name) and it's much more pigmented than this one!
ReplyDeleteOoh nice! I'd love to try out more shades to see how the pigmentation varies!
DeleteHey there!! I love the Fusion Monos!! I got one last year that is very similar to this one. I think it was called Mirror. It's such a light gold that it doesn't work by itself but it's gorgeous over the top of other shadows. Pop a little of this in the center of your eye and it will look so pretty!!

Great tip!! I'll definitely have to try that out :)
