I've been head over heals in love with MUFE's Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation for months now, but lately I've been cheating with Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate* ($69 CAD). This new foundation from Marc Jacobs is meant to offer matte, full coverage with just a few drops, and 24 hours of wear. Keep reading to see how true these claims are!
"Finally: foundation coverage that lasts all day long. Get 24-hour wear and flawless coverage in an instant with this ultra-lightweight foundation concentrate. Featuring a revolutionary oil-free formula that contains twice as much pigment as a leading full-coverage foundation, it’s infused with innovative ingredients that completely cover with spot-on perfection. It’s enriched with Marc Jacobs’ patented golden pigments that are wrapped in lecithin—an ingredient that’s biochemically similar to skin—for immediate, effortless blending and a smooth, soft matte finish. This foundation has a one-of-a-kind dot applicator that allows for custom coverage. Just shake, dot, and blend for perfectly-matte coverage." - Sephora
The packaging of this foundation is quite pretty - the frosted glass bottle is capped off with a black plastic lid. Once you remove the lid you're left with a silver twist off cap, that holds a dot applicator. While this packaging is fun and aesthetically pleasing, I do still prefer an easy to use pump. Also, this bottle is on the heavier side, since it is glass, so it's not the most practical option for travelling.
I apply one drop of this foundation on my forehead, chin, and one on each cheek. You can customize the amount of product that you use depending on the amount of coverage that you like. I find that using four drops gives me a pretty high coverage result. This formula is easy to blend in, even in a rush. I've been using the shade Ivory, which is a great match for my fair skin. I also have a bottle of Bisque Medium, which looks quite light on the Sephora site, but in reality it's just a bit too dark for me right now. There are a ton of shade options available, so you should be able to find something that matches your skin tone.
I really love the matte finish, and my skin does stay looking great all day long. I haven't put the 24 hour wear time to the test, because, well, I like to sleep without make up (and you should too). However, I can definitely say that this foundation lasts incredibly well for the amount of time that I typically keep my make up on in a normal day (about 12-14 hours).
If you enjoy a full coverage foundation, then I think you'd love this new formula from Marc Jacobs! Compared to MUFE's Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation, I do find that Marc Jacobs' gives a bit more coverage, and it lasts a bit longer. MUFE's formula is a bit more breathable, and might be better suited to everyday wear, while Marc Jacobs' foundation gives a flawless base, and would be great for special occasions.
