Happy #ManiMonday friends! Today I'm sharing a new-to-me brand with you all - Nonie Creme Colour Prevails! I've got a vampy manicure that's perfectly appropriate for Fall and Winter, using the shade Wine O'Clock* ($8). Also, the polish bottles from this brand are super cute and unique!
How cute is the butterfly handle on these polishes?! At first I was a bit skeptical as to how easy it would be to paint my nails with this large handle, but I was pleasantly surprised. The larger handle actually makes it easier to paint, since you can get a better grip on the brush.
The shade Wine O'Clock is a deep vampy purple, similar to OPI's cult Lincoln Park After Dark. I did find that this polish had a thinner consistency, so I did have to use 3-4 coats of colour to get a mostly even finish. I was happy to see this polish dry fairly quickly, and with a shiny finish even without a top coat. However, the major downside was the short wear-time: I actually had chipping on 4 nails in less than 12 hours! Polish does tend to chip fairly quickly on my nails, but I always expect to get at least 48 hours out of a manicure.
I also tried out Nonie Creme Colour Prevails Mannequin Hands CC Creme Basecoat*, alongside Wine O'Clock. I didn't have any staining when I removed this polish, which is always a fear when wearing dark polishes. However, this base coat didn't keep my polish from chipping, so I'm not sure that it's a real winner in my books. I'll have to try it out a few more times with different polishes to see if I can get better results.
I always love trying out new brands, and this was no exception! While I loved the packaging and the vampy colour of this manicure, I do wish that the formula was a bit more pigmented, and that it lasted longer on my nails before it started to chip.
