With so many different skin care lines out there on the market, it can be really hard to try to figure out which products are best suited to your individual needs and skin type. One line that I've been quite impressed with over the years is actually the Sephora Collection house brand! I've been using their Ultimate Warming Cleanser* ($22 CAD) for about 6 weeks now, so it's time to give it a proper review!
"Ultimate Warming Cleanser’s honey-like texture becomes warm upon contact, helping to open the pores and rid the skin of impurities, excess sebum, and makeup. It is enriched with maple sap extract which is rich in nutritive elements for comfortable skin that is never dry or tight." - Sephora
Sephora's Ultimate Warming Cleanser comes packaged in a simple yellow and black plastic tube. The tinted tube makes it seem as though the product would have a golden yellow tint to it, but in reality it's just a super thick clear liquid. The texture resembles honey or sap, since it is so thick and almost sticky. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this cleanser at first, but I was pleasantly surprised by the gentle warming sensation. This cleanser warms up when your first rub it between your hands and onto your face, but that warmth only lasts for a few seconds, which is fine by me. This warming sensation is supposed to help open up your pores and "unglue" impurities, excess sebum, and makeup. There's a faint maple sap scent to this cleanser, which I'm sure all of my fellow Canadians will find comforting! I like to use this cleanser after I've removed my makeup with Bioderma, but you can also just skip that step and use this cleanser to also remove your makeup in a hurry. My skin always feels very smooth and soft after using this cleanser - never tight or dry.
We have another winner from Sephora's skincare range! The warming sensation of this product is a bit gimmicky, but it really does work and it feels quite nice. I think that this cleanser would be a great option for anyone with dry or combo skin. Have you checked out any products from the Sephora Collection skincare range? If so, I'd love to hear about your favourites!
