With mixed reports from various groundhogs, who knows how quickly Winter will transition into Spring?! While I'm sitting here patiently waiting for all of the snow to melt, Dior's Spring Glowing Gardens Collection is tricking me into thinking that Spring is already here! Today I have Dior's 5 Couleurs Glowing Gardens Eyeshadow Palette in 451 Rose Garden* (what a mouthful!) to share with you!
I really love the floral design pressed into these shadows! However, the 3D effect does diminish significantly after just 2-3 uses.
I've been a fan of Dior's 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palettes in the past, but they do seem to be fairly hit or miss. The Rose Garden Palette a light pastel pink, a pale yellow, a soft shimmery green, a beige shimmer, and a darker taupe shadow. All five of these shadows are fairly sheer in pigmentation, but the dark taupe did provide better coverage. While I do think that sheer shadows can sometimes be easier to work with, I do expect better pigmentation from a $70 palette.
I used all five shadows to create the look below, but I did find it very tricky to make any individual shadow "pop" on its' own. All of the colours seemed to blend together, creating quite a neutral look, that doesn't scream "Spring" at all. Pigmentation aside, these shadows do have quite a creamy texture, so that was really nice to work with. My eye look did last all day long, with the help of a cream shadow base.
If you're into sheer shadows, or if you're a major Dior fanatic and you're trying to collect all of their 5 Couleurs Palettes, then pick this one up. Otherwise, I don't think that you're missing out on anything too special if you do decide to skip on this one.
