I love discovering new brands, but it can be hard to know what products you should try out first. Enter the blinc Box Discovery Collection*! This box from blinc contains 4 of their best products, for an easy introduction to the brand!
These four products come packaged in colourful metal tubes, which I absoslutely love. I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed when I unpackaged the products. The products themselves are very simply packaged in silver tubes. The colourful outer tubes are fun, but there's really no purpose to them, and they seem a bit unnecessary.
First up is blinc's Black Eyeliner Pencil, which comes in a convenient small travel size. I normally use liquid liner, but I've definitely tried my fair share of pencil liners throughout the years. While this liner from blinc has good pigmentation, I found that it was a bit dry in formulation, meaning that it did drag a bit during application. However, this formula is very long wearing, so you don't have to worry about smudging or fading all day long.
blinc's Black Mascara Amplified also comes in a small travel size tube. The brush is quite large, which normally means big beautiful lashes. Unfortunately, this was not a winner in my books. Even after 5-6 coats of this mascara, my lashes didn't look much better than what I started with. I found this mascara to be quite dry, and it didn't offer any volume, length, or curl.
blinc's Eye Shadow Primer in Light Tone was my favourite product from this set! The beige colour blends into my skin quickly, and the formula is rich and creamy. I don't normally have any issues with my eye shadow fading, but this would be great for anyone with oily lids.
blinc's Light Brunette Eyebrow Mousse would be a great product for anyone with medium toned brows, but I did find it just a bit too dark for my blonder brows. However, the formula was easy to apply and long wearing.
Would you believe that I'm wearing 4-5 coats of mascara?!
What's really interesting about blinc's Mascara Amplified is that it's completely life proof! You will need both water and friction to remove this mascara - either one on its' own won't get the job done. As you can see in the photos below, when I lightly sprayed the mascara with water (picture 2), nothing happened. However, in picture 3, I used a more direct stream of water, and the combination of force and water easily removed the mascara!
It was fun to try out a new brand, but unfortunately most of these products didn't work out for me. I'm personally more of a liquid liner gal, and the mascara was just not working for my lashes. I think that the brow mousse is a good product, but the colour just didn't work for my brows (a problem with these discovery boxes!). The primer was definitely the stand out for me, and I'd recommend trying it out if you have oily lids!
Have you tried any products from blinc before? I'd love to hear your thoughts on the brand, and which products you would recommend. I do definitely appreciate that blinc is a cruelty free brand, and that most of their products are vegan and gluten free!
