My go to rainy day outfit has been Helly Hansen's W Welsey Trench in 899 Rock* ($250 CAD) and Helly Hansen's W Midsund 2 Graphic in 899 ROCKOFF WHITEBRGHT BLOO* ($70 CAD). The green stripes on the boots match the army green colour of the jacket, making the two a perfect pair! I'm also wearing American Eagle's Skinny Jeans in a dark wash, which are my holy grail jeans.
I really love the length of this trench, it cuts off at a really flattering length. Some of my favourite features of this jacket are the one hand hood adjustments, deep pockets, anti-chafe chin guard, and the fitted look. I'm wearing a size small, and I do find that it's true to size. This jacket is very lightweight, so on chilly days you will want to wear a warmer sweater underneath. I think that this jacket will be perfect for taking with me on my travels, as is folds up very nicely and it won't take up a lot of room in my luggage!
Helly Hansen's W Midsund 2 Graphic in 899 ROCKOFF WHITEBRGHT BLOO are just too cute! Rain boots are one fashion item that you can have a lot of fun with, and these green and white striped ones are fun but not too crazy. Of course these boots are fully waterproof - I've tested them out, don't worry! I do want to note that they fit a bit snug, so I'd recommend going up a half size.
My husband is also prepared for rainy weather this Spring, thanks to Helly Hansen's Highlands Jacket* ($200). This jacket is fairly lightweight, completely waterproof, with a packable hood. This jacket is available in four colours, and Dylan is wearing the navy option. I really love how the gold zippers work with the navy jacket. The square front pockets give this jacket a very strong masculine feel.
Spring is just getting started here in Ottawa, so we'll definitely be getting a lot of wear out of these rain coats and boots! I love how the men's and women's lines flatter each other, but at the same time it's not going to be super obvious that you and your significant other were trying to be all matchy matchy.
