Smashbox Be Legendary Matte Lipstick in Paris Pink

Nearly every beauty brand is trying their hand at matte lip products, and they seem to be pretty hit or miss. I've tried (and really enjoyed) Smashbox's Be Legendary Lipsticks before, so I was really excited to hear about their matte take on their popular lipsticks! I've been trying out the shade Paris Pink* ($23 CAD), which is exactly the shade of lipstick that I normally gravitate towards!

"Be Legendary Lipstick Matte features shades with lasting and intense pigments to glide on lightweight eye-catching color. These vitamin-fortified mattes do not settle unevenly on the lips or dry out. Smashbox created and tested every hue in their L.A. photo studio to guarantee that color stays true in photographs and lasts throughout an all-day shoot." - Sephora

Smashbox's Be Legendary Matte Lipsticks are packaged quite simply in rectangular black tubes. Smashbox generally sticks to quite simple packaging, so this was no surprise. The shade Paris Pink is a really wearable light pink colour. In my everyday life, I tend to reach for light pinks or pinky nudes on a daily basis, and I can definitely see myself reaching for Paris Pink a lot. The formula is fairly thick, which also means that it's not drying at all - but it's also not super hydrating, if that makes any sense. When wearing this lipstick, I don't feel the need to reach for a lip balm or gloss, which is pretty impressive for a matte lipstick!

Paris Pink isn't totally transfer proof, so you will need to reapply after eating, drinking, etc. Otherwise, I get about 5-6 hours out of this formula. If you have any issues with dry or chapped lips, you will want to exfoliate before applying this lipstick (this goes for all matte formulas!).

Have you tried any of Smashbox's Be Legendary Matte Lipsticks? I'm pretty impressed, and I can definitely see myself reaching for Paris Pink throughout the Spring and Summer months. I would love to hear about your favourite matte lipstick formulas!
