I'm such a sucker for pretty packaging, and Paul & Joe sure knows how to get my attention. They sell their lipstick bullets separately from the cases, so you have a choice in which case you get! I really love this idea, as it also cuts down on waste and cost when you're ready to repurchase your favourite shade. I've been trying out Paul & Joe's Lipstick CS 096 In Bloom*, which is a beautiful girly pink colour.
As you can see in the photo above, you buy the lipstick bullet on it's own, as the case is sold separately. I absolutely love this pink case decorated with butterflies, it's super feminine and fun. The case feels like it's made of cardboard though, and I've already had one rip at the bottom of my case. I do wish that the packaging was a bit more sturdy, as the refillable packaging suggests that the case should last you years.
The pretty packaging doesn't just stop at the tube, the actual lipstick bullet itself is a work of art! A floral design is etched into the tube, and I'm absolutely loving it. The tip of the bullet is slanted, which makes it easy to create a crisp line. The shade CS 096 In Bloom is a beautiful bright pink, and the colour is very buildable. With just one swipe, you'll get a fairly sheer wash of pink, but after 2-3 layers you'll have a punch of colour. I was really impressed with how moisturizing this formula is - I didn't feel the need to top this off with a lip balm or gloss like I normally do! I only had to top up my lipstick after 5 hours, which I think is pretty impressive.
Have you tried any of Paul & Joe's Lipsticks? How do you feel about the refillable packaging?
I'm honestly not sure if Paul & Joe is cruelty free - I've seen conflicting articles on the brand. If you have any information on this, please let me know!
