My skin isn't normally oil, but during the hotter Summer months I can definitely use some oil control. I typically wear liquid foundation, and then set that with a powder. I've been trying out Kat Von D's Lock-It Powder Foundation* ($42 CAD), which has really been impressing me!
The packaging of this powder foundation is quite simple - a black plastic compact with a silver design on the top. There's a mirror inside the compact, as well as a thick sponge (which I actually haven't used yet!).
I wear the shade Light 44, which is for those with a light complexion with pink beige undertones, and it matches my skin tone really well. This powder is super creamy and soft, and applies like a dream. I love how this powder mattifies without making my face look cakey or powdery. This formula keeps my skin from looking greasy or oily all day long, which is exactly what I want it to do! I haven't tried out this powder as a foundation on it's own - I always pair it with a liquid foundation. I've never had much luck using powder foundation on their own, so if you have any tips or tricks on how to apply powder foundation with medium to full coverage without it looking cakey then definitely let me know!
I'm really enjoying Kat Von D's Lock-It Powder Foundation as a setting powder! Shade 44 is a pretty perfect match for my skin tone, but there are a ton of shades available, so there should be something for everyone. Are you a fan of powder foundations, or do you prefer liquid or cream formulas?
