As for skincare, I picked out two face masks that I want to try to use up in 2017. Vichy's Normaderm 3 In 1 Mask has been a favourite of mine for years, but it isn't CF, so I want to just use it up and move on. I usually follow the Vichy mask with Laboratoire Dr Renaud's HydraScience Multi-hydrating Mask, as I love how it adds a boost of moisture back into my skin. I'm about half way done both tubes, and I don't see it being a problem using these up throughout the year. For hair, I want to use up this large bottle of L'Oreal Professionel's Mythic Oil. I've been using this for the last few months, and I've just started making a dent in the bottle, but I think that it's doable in a year.
I've chosen Vera Wang's Forever Vera as my perfume of 2017. I've only used this bottle a few times, so it's basically still brand new. I've chosen two foundations to focus on this year - Becca's Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation and MUFE's Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation. I have about a third left of the Becca foundation, and I love the formula, but the bottle is just so messy. It had a dropper applicator, but product always seems to get around the cap. The MUFE foundation is still pretty full, and it's one of my favourite foundation formulas, but it's sadly not CF. To go along with my foundations, I've chosen Benefit's Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer. I've had this in my collection for a few years, and I figured that I better use it up before it dries out! I have so many lip scrubs in my collection, and I actually still have Lush's The Kiss from last year's Valentine's Day Collection! My plan is to use this every single night, and I think that will help me use it up before we're ringing in 2018.
Ok, so you might be looking at that picture and thinking that I'm still being a bit unrealistic with the amount of lip products that I can use up this year. However, half of these lippies are at least 50% used up already. Buxom's Lip Cream in Cherry Flip was in last year's Project Pan, but I think I only touched it once or twice. This year I'll try to do better. Stila's Lip Glaze in Amaretto is just a mini, and shouldn't take me too long to use up. Smashbox's Lip Enhancing Gloss in Pout is a pretty pink that I'll be able to slap on over a lot of my go-to lipsticks. Dior's Lip Maximizer in Pink Sunset has a beautiful creamy formula, and I've used up another shade in this line before. Buxom's Lip Cream in White Russian is another gloss that easy to layer on top over so many lipsticks, plus this one is just a mini. MAC's Syrup is about halfway done, and it's a very easy to wear colour. Marc Jacobs' Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer in Taboo only has a few applications left in it, so you should be seeing it in my February empties! I've been wearing YSL's Glossy Stain in 108 Violine Out of Control pretty much daily so far this year, and I think it's about half-way done. Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Bare Naked has been in my collection for years, and I've only used it a handful of times. It's about time that I get some use out of it!And finally we have tarte's Rainforest of the Sea Drench Lip Splash Lipstick in Beach Bum, which really doesn't have that much left in it. This is such a pretty nude colour, and I think that it'll pair nicely with the Laura Mercier gloss.
I have a four powder products that I want to use up this year. I've been using Kat Von D's Lock-It Tattoo Powder Foundation for months now, but I haven't hit pan yet. This is a great powder, and I'll be sad to see it go! I've also been using Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Light/Medium Matte Bronzer for a while, but I use such a light dusting so it's going to take a while to use up. As for a highlighter, I'm going to be focusing on Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Moonstone. I think I've only ever used up one other powder highlighter before (NARS' Albatross), so this is going to be a challenge. Just take a second to look at the amount of pan showing on NARS' Luster Blush! This is such a natural looking blush, making it a great everyday option, no matter what lipstick or eye look you have going on. I think I'll be able to use this up over the next year!
And finally I have two cream shadow sticks that I want to use up. Laura Mercier's Caviar Eye Stick in Amethyst is absolutely gorgeous, and I want to make to use it up before it goes off. Lastly I have Elizabeth Arden's Sunkissed Pearls Cream Eye Shadow Stylo in Freshwater Pearl. This is a pretty nude colour with slightly pink undertones, and it works really well both on its' own and underneath powder shadow.
So, do you think that this amount of products is a reasonable amount to try to use up in a single year? I'll keep you updated on my progress in my monthly empties posts, and maybe a mid year check-in.
What products are you trying to use up this year?
