NARS Banc De Sable Highlighter Palette

If you're a long-time reader of Beyond Blush, then you might know that NARS was one of the first high end brands that I became enamored with. The love affair started with their powder blushes (Sin, Luster, Deep Throat), then their single shadows, eyeliners, Albatross, etc. Along with old faves, NARS has had some incredible new launches lately, and today I have their Banc De Sable Highlighter Palette* ($62 CAD) to share with you!

Firstly, can we talk about this packaging? I have absolutely no complaints. The small palette has a full size mirror on the inner lid, and no unnecessary brushes were included. The three powders are embossed with NARS' logo, which I personally find just so aesthetically pleasing.

To the touch, these powders have a fairly hard feel to them. Most highlighters that I've used (and I've used a lot!) have had a soft, smooth formula. Initially, I was a bit skeptical of the harder formula, but after using this palette a few times I'm in love. My brush picks up this powder beautifully, and offers a lit from within effect. You can also apply these highlighters wet for a more intense glow, but I personally don't ever tend to apply powder products wet.

This trio of highlighters compliment each other beautifully, and can be worn together or separately.
Starting at the left of the palette, Rivage is a glistening pearl, Salé is a shimmering peach champagne, & Embruns is a beautiful metallic rose gold. I love swirling together Rivage and Salé for a cheekbone highlight. Rivage is the perfect brow bone and cupid's bow highlight. While Embruns is absolutely gorgeous, I think that I'll get more wear out of it in the Summer when I have a bit of a tan.

I first became highlighter obsessed when I discovered NARS' Albatross, and I've since used up the entire pan. NARS knows how to do highlighters well, and their Banc De Sable Highlighter Palette is no exception. If you're a fellow highlighter lover, then I think that this palette would make a great addition to your collection.
