One of the most exciting recent beauty collections (in my opinion) has been tarte's Make Believe In Yourself Collection. This collection is unicorn inspired, and I'm all about the unicorn trend! Today I'll be reviewing tarte's Make Believe In Yourself Eye & Cheek Palette* ($52 CAD), which I've been using everyday for a few weeks now.
Originally I was going to review the entire Make Believe In Yourself Collection in a single post, but as soon as I started writing I realized that I had too much to say about this palette alone. First of all, just look at that packaging... I mean, are you serious tarte?! I just love the pink and blue mosaic tile on the lid of the compact. Once you open up the compact, you'll see a large mirror on the inside of the lid, and gold detailing around the powders. The shade names are written beside each shadow, which is a small detail that I really appreciate.
This circular palette includes 10 eye shadows and 1 larger highlighter. These powders are all infused with tarte's famous Amazonian clay, as well as mineral pigments.
Myth - The only matte shadow in this palette, this nude shadow leans fairly warm
Magic - Shimmery bronze, great pigmentation
Wings - Shimmery copper, this was the only shadow in this palette that I found a bit chalky, and the glitter was pretty chunky.
Marvel - Metallic sage with incredible pigmentation
Trance - Shimmery taupe, silky smooth formula
Fairy - Metallic lavender, this is hands down my favourite shade in this palette! I love using this purple shadow on my lower lash line to bring a pop of colour to my look.
Mystic - Silvery blue with a metallic finish
Dream - Shimmery turquoise
Crystal - Champagne shimmer, one of my faves from this palette
Pixie - Rose gold shimmer, so pretty!
Believe - Pearl highlight, can be used on the eyes or cheeks. This highlighter has golden undertones, and I think that it's really flattering on my pale skin tone.
Even without a primer, these shadows last on my lids all day long. If you love yourself some shimmer and glitter, then I think that you'll love this palette. For a unicorn inspired palette, I was expecting it to be a bit brighter and more colourful, but to be honest these colours are better for everyday wear.
Have you picked up anything from tarte's Make Believe In Yourself Collection yet? I've been loving the entire collection, so stay tuned for my reviews on the rest of the unicorn inspired products!
